Healthcare Sales Jobs within Hospitals

These roles involve selling exclusively within hospitals and depending on the range of products, can be very specific or very diverse with regard to the customers one sells to and the type of sale in question.

Depending on the range of products, one could be responsible for hospital disposables sales of relatively inexpensive items, or for medical devices sales of high cost and highly technical products such as implants and prostheses, or for the sales of large medical equipment, or a mixture of these.

Medical devices sales jobs, medical equipment sales jobs, community products sales jobs, or Nurse Advisory/Clinical Specialist roles, are typically jobs which are open to nurses, graduates, or technicians who are looking for their first move into medical devices sales, medical equipment sales, or community products sales.

Examples of these types of healthcare sales jobs or medical devices sales jobs or medical equipment sales jobs could involve selling a range of cardiology products such as stents, angioplasty balloons, pacemakers, or ECG equipment to Consultant Cardiologists. Another example might involve the sale of a range of surgical implants, instruments, or other surgically related products such as laparoscopy or endospcopy related equipment, to a very specific group of Consultant Surgeons working within different specialities such as Orthopaedics, Neurology, Cardiac, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Urology, Gastroenterology, Radiology, Ophthalmic etc.

Other roles might include sales of anaesthetic, renal or patient monitoring equipment or specialist consumables to Intensivists, ITU and/ or CCU nurses, Consultants or a mix of these.

Depending on the type of product in question, these types of roles involve selling within the community exclusively. The customers would primarily be the nurses within the community such as District Nurses, Primary Care Trusts, Nursing Homes; etc. Examples of these jobs would involve the sale of healthcare products within areas such as Woundcare, Diabetes and Incontinence.

Healthcare Sales Jobs within Hospitals and the Community

These types of roles are similar to the above, but may involve the sale of healthcare products both within the community and hospitals and therefore, apart from the above, the customers would not only include nurses working within hospitals and clinics, but also in some cases, both general and specialist clinicians and purchasing departments within hospitals.

Healthcare Sales Jobs within Clinical Diagnostics

These roles involve the sale of products such as diagnostic tests and kits to nurses, medical laboratory assistants, clinicians, or a mixture of these working primarily within hospitals or specialist clinics. These diagnostics test for a wide range of diseased states such as Diabetes, HIV, Infectious Diseases and general biochemical tests for levels of ie. cholesterol, proteins, enzymes etc.
